French football club Girondins de Bordeaux has terminated its contract with betting operator Winamax following several mocking tweets

French football social club Girondins de Bordeaux wine has terminated its take with betting operator Winamax next several mocking tweets.

Thomas Jacquemier, the club’s Managing Director, said Bordeaux wine had cut off its relationship with the team’s front-of-shirt patronize after it repeatedly mocked the order on social media.

In particular, the sports betting firebrand derided Bordeaux o'er its recent licking against Marseille, and specifically, the destruction of its 44-year unconquered feed against the latter.

Among its posts, Winamax sarcastically tweeted: “Congratulations to the Girondins de Bordeaux who have not conceded a goal for almost 20 hours now.”

In another tweet, the operator said: “Summer 2021: a tattoo for every end conceded past Bordeaux this season!” This was attended past a pic of a heavily tattooed individual with the caption, “January 2022”.

In response, Jacquemier announced that Bordeaux would stop its partnership with Winamax and take away the brand’s logo from its shirts.

“We are terminating our partnership with Winamax whose communication had dissociated itself from the flavour of the club,” said Jacquemier.

Opinion was split up over this announcement, with some taking to Twitter inwards financial backing of the sports betting brand, spell others agreed with Bordeaux’s decision.

In response to a tweet from radiocommunication station France Bleu Gironde, single user said: “Between a patronise whose communicating is based on humour and a society that doesn’t pass water you want to laugh at all, it couldn’t match.”

However, another replied: “This sponsor has been dissociated from the feel of the social club from the start.

“We should experience never signed with this company, whose activity is very life-threatening for immature people and sure vulnerable people. However well(p) determination to ending it, still if it means losing money.”

In put of the Winamax logo, Bordeaux wine will now feature the insignia of its openhearted foundation, Cœur Marine et Blanc.
