The Dutch people play regulator Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) has proclaimed it has so far received 28 applications from operators seeking to bid online games of chance inwards the country’s regulated market.

The Remote Gambling Act (Koa), the practice of law that legalizes online gaming below strict conditions, came into core on 1 Apr 2021.

The Ksa confirmed that the operators that see all the conditions will obtain a licence, with the market place for online games of chance scheduled to open on 1 October 2021.

Companies are assessed on several factors, including an decent insurance policy to keep gaming addiction, whether it is a salubrious society that handles participant balances responsibly, and if it has a connector to the Central Register of Exclusion of Gambling, among other issues.

A fee of €48,000 ($58,000) is also required, with the Ksa confirming that all 28 applications feature paid the fee, with companies successful inward obtaining a licence permitted to extend games of chance via various websites.

“The intention of the law is to communication channel players from illegal providers to de jure reliable providers,” said René Jansen, chairman of the plank of the Ksa.

“With this identification number of applications, I trust that there will presently live a sufficiently attractive and wide-ranging offer up to accomplish this objective.”
