Disney CEO Bob Chapek has doubled downward on sports betting, expressing the company’s loyalty to ESPN and wagering to a greater extent broadly.

In an question at Disney’s D23 event inward Anaheim, as reported by Bloomberg, Chapek said sports betting is what the company’s younger audience wants “as portion of their sports lifestyle.”

To this end, he reiterated his trust inward ESPN, rejecting a telephone from “activist investor” Dan Loeb, Founder and CEO of skirt monetary fund Third Point, to twisting cancelled the business.

For example, Chapek reportedly said the keep company is “working rattling hard” when asked whether it was underdeveloped an ESPN sports betting app.

“We trust that ESPN is an asset that is well placed within the Walt Walter Elias Disney Company,” Chapek said, as reported by Reuters.

Following rumours that Walter Elias Disney planned to sell ESPN, Chapek said it had received legion(p) enquiries from prospective buyers.

Given this interest, Chapek believed the business sector represents a unique opportunity, and went on to say Disney has a visual sensation for ESPN.

In response to this, Jacques Loeb appeared to simplicity sour on his push, composition on Twitter: “We get a meliorate understanding of @espn’s potential as a standalone business organization and another vertical for $DIS to reaching a planetary audience to bring forth advertizing and contributor revenues.”

Loeb also said Third Point looks forwards to seeing what lies inward hive away from ESPN and its Chairman Henry James Pitaro.
